DescriptionA person does a somersault down the side of a sand dune at White Sands National Monument near Alamogordo, New Mexico. There are ripples in the sand in the foreground. The person is upside down mid-roll.
A typed caption on the back of the photograph reads, "Tumbling down the great dunes of New Mexico's White Sands is almost like doing a flip flop in the snow. This great natural wonder covers 270 sq. miles and a portion of it has been set aside a National Monument. Recreational facilities are being developed. These giant dunes are located 18 miles west of Alamogordo, New Mexico."
