Footprints cover the sand in the foreground.A typed caption on the back of the photograph reads, "There is fun for the entire family here, scrambling over theese massive dunes of white gypsum. Now a National Monument the great White Sands of New Mexico draw many thousands of visitors every year. There are some 176,000 acres of these Albino Hills, composed practically of pure gypsum."
