DescriptionThis colorful map showing the territories of New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Kansas, Utah, and what here is Indian Territory but is now known as Oklahoma. Outside of the colorful bordered territories are the northern parts of Mexico, part of California, Pawnee territory, and a detailed outline of Texas that is labeled as Staked Plain. Mountain ranges are drawn onto the map and many areas are separately labeled by the surrounding rivers. There is a border of small columns that goes around the rectangular map. Within each territory, different counties are highlighted green, red, or left the beige color of the map.
