BiographyEstablished in 1900 due to a rising population and increased fire hazards, the Albuquerque Fire Department began, replacing the earlier volunteer service, and was composed of one hook-and-ladder company and three hose companies. Today, now known as the Albuquerque Fire Rescue, the department has been able to adapt to Albuquerque's needs and has proven to be a significant factor in maintaining public safety within the city.
