DescriptionThis map contains a view of Oberwesel looking across the Rhine in a southwesterly direction. This landscape map depicts the town of Oberwesel in Germany from the Rhine River that runs next to it. The view contains nearby trees and towers on a hill, city walls, homes inside the walls with red roofs and a large church, and activity along the river such as boats being pulled along by a line of horses. Two heraldic devices feature in the upper left, right, and center with crests for the town and region respectively. There is also a sun on the right side with facial features and a cloudy sky above. Below this, a boat fishes in the Rhine next to the town of Boppart which lies on the river below a green valley. A church is in the center of the town and stone walls surround the houses inside. The text is in Latin.
