DescriptionLocal residents of Montgomery, Alabama wave towards marchers in the Selma to Montgomery march as they enter Montgomery in this black and white photograph. A total of six people, three men and three women, are standing on the front porch of a house with their hands raised in a wave. The three men stand on the left side of the photograph wearing casual clothing and hats. The man in the middle is using crutches as they all look towards the left of the frame. The three women stand on the right side of the photograph wearing house dresses and coats. Two of them have a handkerchief tied around their heads, the third one wears a hat.
