DescriptionThis color photograph is of jewler Ross Lewellan with written a inscription, drawings, and a signature by Lewellan underneath. Lewellan is posing in a chair in a studio looking at the camera. The inscription reads:
Reality windows: Recently I have met with new knowledge to better understand myself and reality. I have met my four animals (while doing personal totem work) that caretake the four windows to reality. Thinking sensing- feeling and imagery. [Drawing of bear] Bear for the window of thinking [below bear drawing] [drawing of hippo] hippo for the window of sensing [below hippo drawing] [drawing of buffalo] Buffalo for the window of feeling [below buffalo drawing] [drawing of sea turtle] Sea turtle for the window of imagining [below turtle drawing] Each window and its cartaker stands alone or together as "Reality clearing tool for me." I asked my reality window animals to council. They agreed and we sat in a circle on the sand touching each other. We all swayed back and forth, [and] when we did, minerals, gemstones, and precious metals fell from us onto the sand. The animals all said that these gifts are some of the tools and materials for my path as a creative jewler. I'm taking a good look out each window, especially the feeling and imagery windows.
