DescriptionThis color photograph is of astrophysicist Jack G. Hills with a written inscription and signature by Hills underneath. Hills is posing while seated in a chair behind a desk with his hand on the keyboard smiling at the camera.

The inscription reads:

My view of reality is dynamic rather than static. Every new experiment I hear about, every new concept I conceive or hear about, and every new experience in life alters my view of reality. With time, some vistas of reality become clearer. Views of the misty ones I had earlier, others are revolutionary variations of earlier views, and, finally, some views are vistas of reality that I never conceived of earlier in my life. There is progress. A mind expanded by experience can never return to its former state.
