DescriptionThis object is a tonsil snare used to encircle and cut tonsil tissue. The object has scissor-like handles that operate a small metal loop located at the tip of the object and attached perpendicularly to the handles. Pushing the handles extends the loop which can be placed around infected tonsil tissue to restrain and remove it. A large screw is located behind the snare and can be operated to adjust the length of the snare. "V.MUELLER&Co." is stamped near the hinge on one side of the object, with "DR. ROBERTS" etched nearby above the hinge "GERMANY" has been stamped onto the reverse side of the object, with "Dr. J. B. Roberts" carved next to it near the hinge as well. The screw located at the back of the operating arm shows signs of moderate corrosion. On View
