DescriptionThis object is an adenotome, which is used to remove infected tonsil or adenoid tissue. The object consists of a slender, curved body with three ring handles and a specialized, golf-club shaped compartment with a sliding blade. The three ring handles are located on the sides of the object near the base and at the very top of the object as well. The upper ring handle, along with the small thumb-operated screw located just below, can be used to adjust the length of the object. The tip of the object consists of a semi-spherical compartment capped by a sliding blade which is used to contain the removed tissue. "PILLING" is stamped onto one side of the object between the two lateral hinges. There is very little to no visible corrosion on the object.On View
