DescriptionThis object is a tonsillotome used to encircle and cut tonsil tissue. The object has scissor-like handles that operate a small metal blade located at the tip of the object and attached perpendicularly to the handles. Pushing the handles together extends the blade along a square metal ring which can be placed around infected tonsil tissue to restrain and remove it. "V. MUELLER" is stamped on the exterior of one of the handles below the hinge of the object, while "GERMANY STORZ" is stamped along the base of the blade. Moderate levels of corrosion are visible across the handles and around the hinge. On View
