DescriptionThis object is a Tydings Tonsil Snare which is used to extract tonsils by extending a wire loop from the tip of the horizontal operating arm. This arm is controlled by two scissor-like handles that can be used to extend or retract the wire loop. A thumb-operated brass screw is located at the base of the tip, allowing for attachments of different lengths to be installed on the object. The object is in good condition aside from some minor scratches visible throughout.
