DescriptionThis black and white photograph shows voting rights demonstrators marching in Montgomery, Alabama. The marchers are walking directly toward the viewer. There are six men walking in the front of the photo, behind them is a large group of other demonstrators. They are dressed in casual clothing with long-sleeve shirts as well as jackets and sweaters. Some are carrying bottles on their belts and another one is carrying a briefcase. Two of the men are wearing a strip of white fabric around their left arm. The group in front are linking their arms and hands together as they walk on a paved road. In the background umbrellas and two flags, one of which is the United States of America flag, are being carried by the marchers. The sky, buildings, and trees can be seen in the background.On View
