DescriptionDr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Reverend Herbert H. Eaton, and John Lewis march in the rain in Montgomery, Alabama in this black and white photograph. The frame of the photo is tilted slightly upwards and to the right so that the viewer is looking down on the group and the group is slightly off-center. The three men are in the very front of the marchers and they take up most of the photograph. The man on the left is Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., the man in the middle is the pastor of Dexter Avenue Baptist Church Rev. Herbert H. Eaton, and the man on the right is John Lewis. Dr. King and Rev. Eaton are holding what appears to be a folded jacket over their heads as they walk. They are speaking to each other and they are wearing suits and ties. The pastor wears dark glasses. Lewis is wearing a rain poncho with the hood over his head. Behind the leaders is a large group of marchers who are wearing a variety of clothing styles. Several of them are also holding jackets and umbrellas over their heads. Two flags, one of which is the United States of America flag, can also be seen being carried by marchers in the background. Blurry buildings, trees, and sky can be seen in the background. On View
