DescriptionThis collection of maps depicts the cities: Calaris (Cagliari), Malta, Rhodus (Rhodes), and Famagusta, originally printed in Georg Braun and Frans Hogenberg's Atlas Civitatus Orbis Terrarum. In the upper left, Cagliari's buildings are in red and walls surround the city. A darker dock is in the foreground with ships docked inside. Green plots of land surround the city and ships are on the sea in front next to a red box containing descriptive information. In the upper right, Malta is depicted as a series of buildings on thin peninsulas leading into the sea. Ships are in the distance and windmills mark the water line. Green uninhabited land surrounds the buildings and the text is in the lower right. Rhodes, the city in the lower left, contains circular walls with some ships docked within. Descriptive text is in the upper right and green land surrounds the city with windmills on the water's edge. In the lower right, the coastal city of Famagusta has angular walls and a moat surrounding it. People sail ships in the foreground and there is descriptive text in the upper left.On View
