Leroy Matthew

BiographyLeroy Matthew was the nephew of James Matthew, who founded the dairy in 1893 or 94. James' brother Albert came to Albuquerque in 1902 and worked as a delivery driver for the dairy until it was sold to the Price family in 1932 and it became Valley Gold. James Matthew died in 1931, which was the reason it was sold. Albert was Leroy's father. Leroy's full name was Albert Leroy Matthew. Albert married Maybelle Yott, daughter of Joseph Yott, who came here from Chicago and built the house at 3541 12th street NW, which is still in use. Roy's obituary is in the April 26, 1998 Albuquerque Journal. Bob Smith, 6/21/16.
