BiographyBorn Virginia Flugrath, Viola Dana was an American film actress who was successful during the era of silent films. She landed her first lead role in the Broadway smash Poor Little Rich Girl in 1913. She was given a contract with MGM where she remined until the end of the silent film era. She appeared in over 100 films, but was unable to make the transition to sound films.
