DescriptionA four-strand turquoise and spiny oyster necklace. Arranged and strung on four cords of waxed linen, alternating turquoise stones and spiny oyster (Spondylous) tabs, or “chicklets,” comprise the main elements of this elegant necklace, with heishe shell punctuating each grouping as well as capping the strands at either end. Kewa Pueblo artist Crucita Tenorio is known for her labor-intensive works, some of which number seven strands or more.On View
