DescriptionA four-strand turquoise necklace with spiny oyster, jet, white clam shell, gold lip oyster mother of pearl, glass beads, and rayon cord. A masterful example of Kewa (Santo Domingo Pueblo) jewelry generally, and of the husband-and-wife team of Delber and Torivia Crespin in particular, this multi-strand turquoise necklace comprises of a number of precious shell types derived from as far away as the Pacific Ocean. Cut and affixed in a complex arrangement of sophisticated mosaic designs, each faceted cluster of stone and shell is further adorned with pairs of pendant turquoise strands that, taken together, confer a regal flare on the wearer. On View
