DescriptionThe Albuquerque Guard with Captain J.E. Westlake and Company F, Second Regiment. The group is organized in a horizonal line outside a two-story building with a balcony and porch on First Street, Albuquerque, New Mexico. The soldiers are mounted on horses, wear matching uniforms and rest a rifle against their right shoulders. They wear stiff tall hats with a badge and large feather plume.

Silver mirroring and emulsion deterioration is occurring on the glass plate creating color distortion and emulsion loss.
