DescriptionThe storefront of L.B. Putney Wholesale Grocer on 617 west Copper Avenue in Albuquerque New Mexico. The building is wood paneled and has a large raised porch in the front with a large sign above it advertising the name of the business. A horse drawn cart loaded with hay is parked in front of the porch. The cart has wooden wheels and two dark horses pull it. A figure sits high atop the piles of hay holding reigns. He wears a round domed hat, has a cigarette between the lips, and wears a slack suit. Nine people stand or sit at different points on the wraparound porch. They all wear variations of slack suits, vests, wide brimmed hats, and starched collars. Two men stand in the yard in front of the horses and wagon in similar outfits. The yard outside the grocer is dirt. To the side of the grocer is a Railroad Crossing sign that says, "LOOK OUT FOR THE CARS" with train tracks on the other side of it. On the tracks next it the grocer is a parked train car with "K.C.D.B.L. 4178" painted on the rear. On the slats covering the space between the earth and porch hangs a sign saying, "SPIDER...FLY."

Silver mirroring and emulsion deterioration is occurring on the glass plate creating color distortion and emulsion loss.
