DescriptionNineteen men in military uniforms stand in a formation in an open desert landscape in Albuquerque, New Mexico, making up the Albuquerque Guard. Sixteen men stand in a horizonal line, shoulder to shoulder. Most wear white gloves and military caps with their single-breasts brass-buttoned jackets. They each hold a riffle with the barrel up, held in their stacked firsts with the shoulder of the gun resting on the ground. Two men stand in front of the back line, and one more man (likely Captain J. E. Westlake) stands in front of all them. The three men standing in front of the main line hold swards instead of guns.
