DescriptionFour men pause at a starting area, preparing to run a race around a track at the New Mexico Territorial Fairgrounds near the intersection of West Railroad Avenue and Rio Grande Boulevard in Albuquerque, New Mexico. A man holds a starting gun over his head behind the four runners. Also on the track is a man holding a dark umbrella over his head. Spectators line the fence to watch the race. The spires of San Felipe de Neri Church in Old Town are in the background. In the distant background are the Sandia Mountains.

There is a crack in the glass plate running down the right side.
