DescriptionThis color photograph is of rabbi Leonard Helman with a written inscription and signature by Helman underneath. Helman is posing with his chin tilted upward in a darkly lit room.

The inscription reads:

Reality is a fleeting moment of time -- surrounded by past historical experience of oneself, one's family, and one's religious and cultural history and by the future hopes and dreams for tomorrow. Without the totality of yesterday, today and tomorrow, life is meaningless.

As I grow older, life goes more quickly and that is the reality I struggle with -- to give meaning to the passage of life.
[signed Rabbi Leonard A. Helman]
