DescriptionThis object is a ceramic souvenir transferware plate depicting Indigenous-inspired tourist attractions around New Mexico. The center of the object is dominated by an etching of Maisel's Indian Trading Post, located in downtown Albuquerque. Illustrations and subtitles clockwise from the top of the object include: "DEVIL DANCE OF THE APACHE INDIANS / PUEBLO INDIAN WOMAN BAKING BREAD / BUFFALO DANCE OF THE PUEBLO INDIANS / PUEBLO DE TAOS - NEW MEXICO - HARVEST TIME INDIAN PUEBLO - NEW MEXICO." Etchings of the dancers and pueblo villages intersperse the object. The platter is in good condition with very little to no visible signs of corrosion.
