DescriptionA wooden log bridge crosses the Rio Pueblo in front of the tiered houses of Taos Pueblo, New Mexico. Men in ceremonial dress stand in the plaza in front of the adobe pueblo. There are wooden drying stands in front of the pueblo near the men.
A typed caption with the photograph reads, "Well over four centuries old, this is one of the larger structures at the Indian pueblo fo Taos in northern New Mexico. This building is of adobe construction, was in use when Coronado explored the Southwest in 1540-41 and is still occupied by the same interesting tribe of Indians."
