BiographyArmand Marseille of Sonneberg and Koppelsdorf, Thüringia, Germany was a well known manufacturer of bisque and porcelain doll heads. Marseille was born in 1856 in St. Petersburg, Russia. His family moved to Germany after 1860. He bought a toy factory in 1884 and begane manufacturing dolls in 1885. He exhibited dolls in the 1904 World's Fair in St. Louis. He recived patents for deisns of dolls and to machinery needed in the factories.
