A typed caption on the back of the photograph reads, "Capillo Peak Lookout, northwest of Mountainair near State Highway 10, is a key station for rapid detection of forest fires in the Manzano Mountains of the Cibola National Forest. The lookout is manned from May through July and visitors are welcome."
