DescriptionRoscoe Turner's airplane, known as the Brown Special is on its way to the 1937 Bendix Trophy Race at the Albuquerque Airport in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The #29 contender's registration number is NR263Y. In the center frame, there is the left side of a parked low-wing racing aircraft. In front of the aircraft and to the right, two men are standing on each side of the aircraft. There is a young man standing by the aircraft in the right frame, near the tail. The tail has "29" painted on it. The pilot is sitting in the cockpit wearing a Helmut.
Handwriting on the front of the photograph reads, "Roscoe Turner 1936; Brown Special."
Handwriting on the back of the photograph reads, "Roscoe Turner in Brown Special on way to National Air Races. Flew Brown in 1937 Bendix."
