DescriptionMen re-fuel and work on Roscoe Turner's Wedell-Williams Racing Aircraft at the Albuquerque Airport in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The plane has the number 57 painted on the side and a list of all the races and aircraft Turner has won. This plane is called the 1935 Hornet. A crowd stands and watches from the background. Two men stand near the cockpit and speak to Turner. A truck is parked behind the plane and several men are standing on it and in the bed of the truck.
Handwriting on the upper left of the photograph reads, "Eddie Edwards, Walt Schommer, Frank Smeakman, Jas. Oxnard". Handwriting on the bottom of the photograph reads, "Bendix Trophy National Air Races - 1935; Turner refueling - Albuquerque Airport".
