DescriptionWedell-Williams Special #25, registration number NR 61-Y, is at the Albuquerque Airport in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The aircraft is flown by Lieutenant Joe Mackey at the 1936 Bendix Trophy Race. The left side of the low-wing racing aircraft is in the center frame. The engine is running and it is parked. There is the number "25" on the fuselage. The aircraft registration is R61Y on the tail. Mountains are in the distance.Handwriting on the front of the photograph reads, "Joe Mackay 1936 Wednell-Williams Special."
Handwriting on the back of the photograph reads, "Lieut. Joe Mackey flying Roscoe Turner's Wedell-Williams Racer. This flight was from coast-to-coast to get ready for the Bendix Race."
