DescriptionThe Smith & Prieston storefront located at 216 1/2 South Second Street in Albuquerque, New Mexico. A group of men stand outside the shop on a raised wooden plank boardwalk with horse-drawn wagon parked in front. In the wagon which reads, "T WAY ...WALL PAPER..." on the side has a shaggy black dog sitting in it. Two of the men on the boardwalk hold bicycles. All the men have thick mustaches and wear a variety of bowler hats, fedoras, and flat crowned hats, slack suits with vests and ties, and overalls. There is an adolescent boy likely in teenage years wearing a similar outfit.

The shop has many signs. Above it, is a large riffle with a sign beneath reading, "SMITH & PRIESTON. NEW MEXICO NOVELTY WORKS." Above the storefront windows are additional signs, installed at an angle, "T WAY FOR SIGNS 216 1/2 WALL PAPER PAINTING DECORATING & PAPER HANGING," and "W.J. T WAY. 216 1/2 WALL PAPER OIL PAINTS GLASS PUTTY..." On the side of the building is a free-standing vertical sign reading, " SMITH & PRIESTON MACHINISTS AND ELECTRICIANS HOUSE WIREING AND ALL KINDS OF ELECTRICAL WORKS."

Silver mirroring and emulsion deterioration is occurring on the glass plate creating color distortion and emulsion loss. The glass plate is broken horizontally through the center.
