DescriptionThis campaign button was produced for Franklin D. Roosevelt, who served as the 32nd President of the United States from 1933 to 1945, along with his running mate, Henry A. Wallace. Roosevelt served four terms, making him the longest-serving president in U.S. history. A former governor of New York, Roosevelt’s presidency was defined by his New Deal policies, which aimed to combat the Great Depression through economic reform, job creation, and social safety nets. He also led the nation through World War II, establishing the U.S. as a global superpower with a strong commitment to defeating fascism. Roosevelt’s leadership during both the economic crisis and the war reshaped American society and government, leaving a lasting legacy of social programs, international influence, and progressive policy. He passed away in office in 1945, having profoundly impacted the course of 20th century America. The button is all white with black monochrome portraits of Roosevelt and Wallace. Black text beneath the portraits reads " ROOSEVELT / FOR / PRESIDENT'' and ''WALLACE / FOR / VICE PRESIDENT."
