DescriptionDesigned to be folded into a colorful cover attached to the top left corner, this map of trails in New Mexico was made for early automobile travel and shows the major and minor highways and routes going through New Mexico. The right of Arizona and the bottom of Colorado are depicted to show trail continuation and the title is in the upper left corner. Above this is an extended advert across the top for Conoco Gasoline and Motor Oils. At the bottom are two keys, one named the map explanation that indicates which roads are paved, improved, dirt, and unreported, and next to this is a list of trial and highway markings with images next to the descriptions to help the viewer read the map. This map does not include Route 66 but does indicate Route 6 which would become much of the tourist trail.
