DescriptionThis object is a small surgical retractor used to hold tissue away from operations. The object is comprised of a small, flat, perpendicular retracting arm at the end of a long handle. The handle itself is comprised of six flattened metal strips around the base of the object. The stem in between is much thinner than the handle, and has "V.MUELLER&Co." stamped on one side. "Dr. Roberts" has been carved into one of the sides of the handle as well. Mild corrosion is visible across the handle, with heavier corrosion visible on the stem of the object between the retractor and the handle.
