DescriptionThis object is a small, double-pronged surgical retractor. The two tips of the object are connected by a U-shaped bracket, and are bent slightly downwards and blunted. The retracting portion is affixed to the handle through a narrow stem. The handle itself is a flat, rectangular piece of metal with a band of horizontal serrations near the top end. "V.MUELLER&Co." has been stamped on one side of the handle towards the center of the object. Initials "J.B.R." have been carved onto the same side of the handle closer to the base of the object. Some minor amounts of corrosion are visible within the serrations on the handle.
