DescriptionA landscape view of a man and a dog overlooking New Town, Albuquerque, New Mexico, facing northwest from Silver Avenue and Edith Boulevard. They sit on a hill, providing a high vantage point. The ground is rolling with sage bushes and other desert foliage sprinkle the sandy ground behind and below them. In the distance, Albuquerque is seen with homes, smokestacks, dirt roads, and multi-story buildings. Beyond the town is desert land and mesas beginning to rise out of the horizon with a large open sky above it.

The man sits at an angle, revealing his right profile to the viewer. He wears a safari hat, suspenders over a long-sleeve button-down, and dark trousers. His face is obscured by the hat's shadow, but a large bushy beard emerges from it. He sits with one leg bent, and rests his elbow on it with the other leg straight, resting on the ground. The dog's back is to the viewer as it looks towards the distant town.

Silver mirroring, emulsion deterioration, and scratches are occurring on the glass plate creating color distortion and emulsion loss.
