DescriptionA street view of the Whitney Hardware Company, Wholesale and Retail shop located at 113-115 South First Street in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The hardware store is located in a two-story building with the first floor composed of large storefront windows. There is a paved sidewalk between the building and the dirt road. A horse drawn cart and bicycles are parked on the side of the road. The sidewalk has pitch forks, a tire, shovel, and other equipment stacked against the display windows. The windows advertise for pluming supplies, perfumes and toilet articles, drugs, and tin work. There is a fabric canopy over one of the windows collapsed and tied down against the building. Silver mirroring and emulsion deterioration is occurring on the glass plate creating color distortion and emulsion loss in image. This glass plate has been broken in half.
