DescriptionFRONT:New Mexico calls itself "Land of Enchantment," chiefly because of its varied, beautiful scenery, also because of its rich, ancient history, which draws upon the culture of three peoples - the Indians, the Spaniards, and the Anglo-Americans. The earth and its resources provide N.M.'s economy, based upon minerals, especially uranium; agriculture, lumbering, grazing, and dependent upon the U.S. Gov't as an employer and upon tourism.
BACK:
Tell story of the Santa Fe Opera - a protege of Igor Stravinsky - founded by American conductor, John O. Crosby. Internationally recognized now called "The Salzburg of the Southwest."
