DescriptionThis is a 24-page instruction manual filled with information about the how to use the pressure cooker for canning meat; which cuts of meats to use; and recipes. It also has directions for how to render lard and make soap in the cooker. On the front of the manual there is a black and white picture of a woman using a pressure cooker in a kitchen, with smaller photos of vegetables and meat inside the larger one. The rest of the book is a peach color that has been stained. Around the photo and title, but not the publication information, there is a decorative border made up of parallel lines that intersect at the corners to create small squares. The front cover of the manual also identifies it as “Circular no. 177”, its publication date, and other publication information. Stamped at a diagonal, toward the bottom of the cover, one sees the words “From County Agent Taos, New Mexico.” The cover also attributes the book to the "New Mexico College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts".On View
