DescriptionThis matchbook does not contain matches. The background is cobalt blue, and the text and illustration are silver. Along the fold, printed on a silver background, it says, "PHONE 3493" which is the local phone number. Below this, printed from left to right and top to bottom on a blue background, are the words, "NCO [Non-Commissioned Officers] Mess/KIRTLAND/AIR FORCE BASE/ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO." Along the side, on a silver background, are Air Force insignia, and below this it says, "BAR/COCKTAIL/LOUNGE/RESTAURANT." In small print along the bottom of this side it says, "CLOSE COVER BEFORE STRIKING." On the other side of the matchbook is an illustration of a shield with a nuclear symbol, a missile, and a mushroom cloud depicted inside it. Along the bottom of this side it says, "MATCH CORP. OF AMERICA ~ CHICAGO."Kirtland Air Force Base is located at 2000 Wyoming Boulevard SEt, Albuquerque and was previously known as Kirtland Field.
