BiographyCharles Frederick Gebhart, also known as Buck Jones, was an American silent film actor, known for his work in Westerns. Jones served in the U.S. Calvary and later worked in Wild West shows and circuses. In 1919 he started work as an extra and stunt man. His first leading role came in 1921. Jones and his horse, Silver, appeared in numerous westerns during the 1920s and 1930s. In 1942, while on a promotional tour to sell U.S. War Bonds, Jones died in a Boston nightclub fire. His film credits include: Riders of Death Valley (1926) and The Fighting Buckaroo (1941).
