Nipsey Russell

Nipsey Russell, whose full name is Julius "Nipsey" Russell, was an entertainer who found widespread success in the United States. He was most well known for appearing on game shows and television shows from the 1960s and through to the 1990s. He was born in Atlanta but spent most of his older teenager years in Cincinnati, Ohio with his aunt. He enlisted as a private in 1942 as a medic in the U.S. Army and returned to the United States in 1945 as a second lieutenant. Russell got his start in comedy and game shows, but was also known for his poetry and film. His most well known film was The Wiz where he played the tin man.
