BiographyLuAnn Tafoya is a potter from Santa Clara Pueblo, New Mexico born in 1938. She is the daughter of potter Margaret Tafoya and granddaughter of Sera Fina Tafoya. Her sister, Shirley Tafoya, is also known for her pottery. LuAnn Tafoya learned to make pottery from her mother, helping to polish her mother’s pots at the age of twelve. She began making her own pots in her teens. She is known for her large pots. She has trained her son, Daryl Whitegeese, in pottery.
