Maclovia B. Sanchez de Zamora passed into the Light of Eternal Mind on Friday, December 15, 2017. Her life and legacy will live on in our hearts and memories forever.
Maclovia, (age 86) is preceded in death by her father, Ernest Sanchez; mother, Anita Gonzalez de Sanchez; and stepmother, Juanita Sanchez y Rael. She is survived by her husband, Eloy L. Zamora; six children, Juanita Zamora, Kathy Garcia, Deborah Zamora-Soon and husband, Stewart, Richard and Gladys Zamora, Ernesto Zamora, and Ava and David Thomas; 16 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Maclovia was an entrepreneur by nature, who owned and conducted a successful catering business, was co-owner of B. Ruppe Drugstore and was a renowned natural healer who represented New Mexico culinary heritage and herbal healing traditions at the Smithsonian in Washington DC which resulted in a touring exhibit of her work. Maclovia was also a devout Catholic and master rosary maker. Her presence will be missed as she now watches over and cares for us from Heaven.
