BiographyCharmae Shields Natseway is an Acoma potter born on August 1, 1958. She learned pottery making from her Grandmother, Dolores S. Sanchez, and her mother, Ethel Shields and began making pottery for the market around 1977. She married Laguna potter Thomas Natseway, who will sometimes paint the pots she creates. She is known for her polychrome and black and white work on jars, bowls, seed pots, Nativities, figures and unique shapes such as pyramids, cylinders and boxes.
