DescriptionUnlike other ceramic products that were commissioned and shipped in to the Alvardo Hotel to be sold inside its stores, Indigenous pottery makers and other Native vendors were to sell outside on the brickwalk. This Hopi piece is part of that history. The object is a coiled and polished clay with polychrome design in black and red that features a quartered bird and feather design. The interior rim is decorated by three lines at the four directions, and one perforated exterior lug to the left.On View
