DescriptionThis small, rectangular cardboard box consists of two parts: an outer sleeve and an inner compartment. The outer sleeve is olive green with a prominent maroon star on the front, surrounded by smaller white stars, and features the word “STAR” in bold maroon text. This decorative pattern emphasizes the brand's name and conveys a sense of quality and reliability. The lower part of the box is navy blue and reads “Typewriter Ribbon by Webster” in bold white lettering, with a clean and minimalistic design. The box contains three typewriter ribbon spools. Each spool is cylindrical, with variations in material and condition. One features a metal base with remnants of black ribbon, another has a worn wooden core with green paint, and the third appears to have a metallic coating. Stamped on the inner compartment are the numbers "504" and a cataloging number. This typewriter ribbon box was manufactured by the E. S. Webster Company and the included ribbons are labeled for use with the Oliver typewriter (specifically 9/16" / Black / 312). The Oliver typewriter, known for its unique down-strike typebars, was a popular machine in offices and homes in the early 1900s. Products like these ribbons would have been essential for maintaining the functionality of such machines, reflecting a period when typewriters were central to communication and recordkeeping. On View
