DescriptionThis matchbox was made to promote the Steaksmith restaurants in Albuquerque, New Mexico and Colorado Springs, Colorado. The Steaksmith began operations in the 1970s. The box is all orange, with the name "STEAKSMITH" placed on the front. The name is enclosed in a cartoonish border, which resembles a metal plaque, with nails around the edges. There is a small image of a hammer as well, which furthers the blacksmith motif presented in the name and logo. The bottom side of the matchbox has the strike strip, right above a line of text presenting the manufacturing information. That line of text reads "POCKETBOX—THE DIAMOND MATCH CO.—LUBBOCK, TEXAS." The bottom face of the box has a similar cartoonish border, with an image of a hammer present near the bottom of the panel. Inside the border there are two lines of text that have the addresses of the two Steaksmith locations. These two lines of text are separated by small images of anvils.
