DescriptionA carriage or gig hitched to a horse is parked in front of a wooden clapboard sided house in Albuquerque, New Mexico. A man and woman stand along a wooden fence surrounding the house. The carriage has a collapsible roof, which is folded down, presenting a single bench seat. The street is dirt. There are tall trees in the front yard of the house. The man leans an elbow on the fence and looks at the camera. He wears a single-breasted lounge or sack three-piece suit, a bowler hat, and has a mustache. The woman stands behind the fence and rests her hands on the railing, looking off to the side. She wears a patterned dress with gigot puffed sleeves, has curled bangs and hair pulled back into a chignon bun.
Silver mirroring and emulsion deterioration is occurring on the glass plate creating color distortion and emulsion loss.
